What is AquaPure?
AquaPure is a device name for hydrodermabrasion, and its features can differ by model and manufacturer.
Hydrodermabrasion aims to cleanse the top layer of skin gently with a flow of water and solution, remove dead cells by vacuum and then apply serums. Unlike classic crystal dermabrasion it uses no abrasive particles.
Some systems sold under the AquaPure name add electroporation, micro-current or heating and cooling handpieces to this basic flow. The usefulness of those extras is documented only to a limited extent in independent studies; you can ask about the clinic's model at consultation.
How does it differ from HydraFacial?
Both are device-assisted facials based on the hydrodermabrasion idea; they have different device and tip designs from different manufacturers.
HydraFacial is a branded system of a specific manufacturer. AquaPure is a name used by different suppliers and its features depend on the model. Comparing them one to one, or saying one is better than the other, would not be accurate.
In practice what matters most is the practitioner's experience, the assessment of your skin, the quality of the products used and hygiene, more than the device name. Ask what the treatment is meant to achieve before choosing.
When is it considered?
It may be considered as support for superficial skin-quality issues such as dullness, congested pores, dryness and uneven texture.
This care does not replace regular cleansing, moisturising and sun protection. Its effect is usually short-lived and depends on care habits.
It is not expected to be enough alone for marked pigmentation, acne scars, wrinkles, sagging or active acne; medical methods are discussed separately in those cases.
What to expect during and after the session?
The session is usually comfortable; mild redness and a feeling of tightness can follow.
After cleansing, exfoliation, vacuum cleansing and serum stages are applied in turn. No anaesthesia is needed. On sensitive skin, suction can cause temporary redness or small red dots.
Afterwards it is advised to protect the skin from the sun for a while, avoid aggressive products and keep moisturising. If there is marked burning, blistering or signs of infection, contact the clinic.
Who may not be suitable?
Active infection, cold sores, open wounds, sunburn, widespread eczema or allergy to ingredients mean postponement; current-delivering handpieces carry extra cautions.
For people with pacemakers or other electronic implants, pregnant women and isotretinoin users, current-based handpieces in particular should be reviewed. After a recent laser, peel or needling procedure, the interval is set by the physician.
Tell the physician about the medicines and skincare products you use before the session. Suitability is always judged individually.
